Smart read. We're already seeing more temporal depth emerge—persistent memory, learning that accumulates. But depth without stakes might be a different kind of depth. An AI’s memories aren't tied to a body that will die or time that's genuinely scarce. Depth without finitude could be a different kind of aperture, not just a shallower one. Either way: what kind of mind, not whether conscious.
